When Christina was pregnant I asked her and Steve if I could do a session for their new little one when he or she arrived. They didn’t know if they were having a boy or a girl and let me tell you, they had one of the cutest little girls ever! She is so tiny but yet was so alert and bright eyed during the whole session. Since becoming a photographer, one of my favorite sessions to do are my newborn photography sessions. A while back a very close friend of mine gave my daughter a blanket that she had crocheted. I fell in love with it and decided to come up with a proposal for her. I told her that I loved the hats that many photographers use in their newborn photo sessions and I showed her examples of hats that I loved and I asked her to make me a few. Well, here we are now, 6 weeks later and “a few hats” has turned into “a lot”!!!! These hats are so cute and soft and they are perfect to use in newborn photo sessions. Due to the popular response to the hats, she decided to start an online boutique through Etsy called Nicolas & Reese so that she could sell the hats to anyone interested in them. She has had a huge success selling the hats to photographers along with selling them as newborn gifts, parents LOVE these. I can’t wait to share more of my photos with you from the newborn photo session I had yesterday. This little one was so tiny and yet she did so well during the entire session! The shoot also ended up being a family photography session that ended with shots of her with each of her parents and then shots with both parents and the newborn together. More photo’s will follow soon, I just had to give you this one quick peek!
I still have a few more new items to roll out to my clients and one in particular is the image box. These are perfect to store your photos in whether it be on your coffee table or on a bookshelf. I went to an awesome photography workshop last month and was filled with so many great ideas when I left there. Ana, who put the workshop together, was amazing and I really had a great time. One of the things she showed us was her custom photo jewelry and gifts she offers to her clients from Planet Jill. There were so many cute shots from this session, but since this session was also a surprise for their dad, I didn’t post any shots of the kids together. When checking out other photographer’s blogs and websites, I always feel that some of the best photos are the photo’s where everything isn’t perfectly planned. That being said, I think this first photo is one of my top picks from the session because Sam looks so cute with his bottle! Thank you again to their mom for setting this session up, it was so fun!
I have been so swamped these past two weeks getting through the Valentine’s rush from everyone that took advantage of my Sweetest Valentine’s Mini-Session! Thank you to everyone who booked my special – all of the sessions were so much fun!!! I have been wanting to post these photos I took of Nikole and Ava from their session. You have to love it when their dad called me up to schedule a session as a surprise for his wife. What a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day!
This afternoon I had a session with three of the best kids. Our family loves them so much and their parents are two of our oldest and best friends. That being said, it was such a treat getting to take these photos! Their mom is excited for this peek, so Heather…here you go!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to shoot some photos of a sweet little newborn named Tayla. There will defnitely be more photos to follow, but I wanted to give you all a quick peek of this precious baby girl!
