Los Angeles Children’s Photographer | This One, She’s My Girl…

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

Getting into the spirit of “Back To School” I wanted to do a photo shoot with my oldest daughter to capture the last little bit of summer we have left for this year before she heads back to school.  This blog post is for her, celebrating her because I love her!

To my sweet, sweet girl.  You are my first born, my first girl and as you fall to sleep each night I think about how you are growing up way too fast.  Last year at this time I was nervously anticipating a day that had made my stomach churn for weeks.  You were heading to kindergarten and even though you seemed prepared for the big day, I wasn’t.  We dropped you off there for your first day of school and I can still recall the smile on your face and excitement in your eyes.  When your teacher had your class line up in the play yard for the morning prayer we watched you grow leaps and bounds in that very moment right there before our eyes.

I will never forget that last look you gave me before you headed in to your class room.  You looked back nervously at me and took a big gulp, gave me a tiny smile and then followed in line behind your classmates.  You were too far away to see the tears streaming behind my sunglasses, but that morning has left a lasting imprint on my heart.

A short 9 months later and you, my girl, were graduating from kindergarten.  You were still my same sweet “little” but you had also become such a grown girl in less than a year.  Attending your kindergarten graduation was another moment that made me realize how quickly the year has gone by and how fast you are growing up.  We were so proud of you that day watching you receive your diploma in the same church, from the same school, wearing the same paper cap that your father had worn when he graduated from that same kindergarten.  We are so proud of you and the person you are – you are truly a gift to our lives.  Your smile is infectious, your thoughtfulness is endless and your playful spirit and belly laughs always leave us with a smile.

Summer is ending and the time has come, we are back to the same place just one year later.  In a couple of days we will be walking you in to your first day of school and this time it will be first grade.  No matter how old you are or what grade you are in, my parting words to you will always be the same.   The words I said to you on your first day of kindergarten and every morning when I dropped you off are the same words I want you to carry with you every day through your life…”Be a good friend and be a good listener, I love you…”

I love these photos of you Fin, they truly capture you and who you are at this very moment.  Spending the time with you at the beach for your photo shoot was so much fun and I thank you so much for these perfect images.  I loved shooting your session and I love every moment we spent playing in the surf.  Most importantly, I love you – my sweet, sweet buggy! xoxo

Los Angeles Children’s Beach Photographer | Andrew’s Beach Shoot

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Andrew and I picked a beach and made it a date so that I could have a beach photo shoot with him and he could have some cool photos for his birthday card invitations.  I loved getting together with him and his surfboard and just watching him look so cool in his board shorts and rash guard.  The best was when we decided it would be a good time for him to paddle out and we would get some shots of him on the next great wave!  Unfortunately, time was not on our side and what little sun there was had already been covered with the thick fog bank rolling in.  Andrew, thanks again for such a fun session, I love you to pieces and we will definitely catch you on a wave next time!

Los Angeles Children’s Photographer | The DiLeva’s Urban Photo Shoot

Monday, June 28th, 2010

When I got together with these two guys a couple of weeks ago for an urban photo session, things turned out to be fun and crazy!  There were times I didn’t think my shutter speed on my camera would be fast enough to keep up with their antics and playfulness.  I had been wanting to shoot down at this warehouse and I was so excited that they were up for the session and that everything went so well.  I love the textures of the building and all of the different colors of the area and I think the boys look so awesome being photographed there!  Casi, thank you so much chicky for meeting up with me that day, I had a blast with Cooper and Jackson!

Los Angeles Children’s Photographer | Ready for some Rico!

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

This little guy has always brought a huge smile to my face!  I just love his sweet cheeks and he has the perfect personality.  His mom and I met up a few months ago for an outdoor photo shoot but we had to get him into the new studio just for a mini studio photography session.  His favorite part of the day was heading downstairs to check out the fountain and get his hands wet.  Rico, I had so much fun and can’t wait for us to hang out again real soon!

Los Angeles Family Photographer | Rollins Family Easter Photos

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

I apologize for being gone so long!  In a very last minute decision my husband and I decided to pack up the three kids and head out to Texas to visit my family.  It was my daughter’s spring break and none of us had been to Texas in almost 4 1/2 years.  To make things even more exciting, we decided to make this a road trip.  Yes, you read correctly, a road trip.  Being in the car with a 5yr old, 2yr old and 10mos old for that many miles can be quite crazy, but to our surprise everyone did great!  I took some REALLY FUN photos on our trip and will be showing you those over the next few days.  With all of that being said, I must first post these photos from our Easter Sunday.  This was the first Easter for our youngest daughter, Grey, and she had so much fun and looked too cute in her dress.  Finley our oldest daughter was all about the chase in finding those eggs, while our 2yr old son Tanner didn’t want to take a break from playing and running around with his cousins.  You may wonder why you don’t see more photos of him on my blog and it’s because he absolutely does not want me to take his photo and he runs FAST when he sees me pull out the camera – LOL!!  I hope you all had a fun Easter weekend and I promise our Texas trip photos will be coming soon!

This last photo is my favorite of the day.  I absolutely love this photo of my husband and our baby girl!

Los Angeles Children’s Photographer | Taylor Sneak Peek

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

This afternoon I had the chance to do an urban photo session and I LOVED it!  I haven’t mentioned it yet on my blog, but I just opened up a small studio that I work out of and I love it.  The great thing about my studio location is that the exterior of the building is amazing with all kinds of great colors and textures and the perfect places for photos.  That being said, I knew before doing this urban photo shoot who I wanted in the photos and I got her!  Taylor, you were perfect and you were such a great sport just going with the flow and smiling till your cheeks hurt!  Thank you so much for letting me spend some time with you this afternoon, the pleasure was all mine! xoxo

Los Angeles Children’s Photographer | DiLeva Family Sneak Peek

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Time for you to see my latest sneak peek!  This cute little guy with super sweet cheeks was great during his session.  Rico and his mom showed up ready to have fun and we definitely did.  I told Tina to bring some things for Easter photos and I love the little carrots she had for him Rico to hold.  We had a few more tricks up our sleeves and little did Rico know that his session would be filled with tons of sweet treats.  He loved the giant lollipops, but the Peeps not so much!  Thank you so much John & Tina for letting me spend some time with little Rico, I enjoyed every minute of it!

Los Angeles Family Photographer | Glover Family Sneak Peek

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Yesterday I gave you a few pics to look at from this session, so today I am giving you the official sneak peek.  This family is so fun and they are some of our best friends out there.  When I called Scott and Karla to tell them we had to book a session they simply asked, when & where?  I am not so sure they had a clear picture on all of the climbing around I was going to make them do, but they were all troopers and everyone did great!  Scott, Karla, Ryan & Andrew – thank you so much for the session, I had a blast!
